Dismal Nitch
DISMAL NITCH
What started as an investigation into the sound of old plastic portable tape machines turned into our very first reverb. Dismal Nitch is a versatile preamp equipped with a powerful Tilt EQ and controls for both input (GAIN) and output (VOL). It works great as a low gain tone shaping EQ but is equally at home when the gain is cranked, producing rich preamp overdrive and distortion. Placed in between the two opamp based amplifiers sits a Belton brick reverb capable of everything from small touches of space to gigantic sonic waves.
RVB: Adds an increasing amount of reverb to the signal when turned clockwise. From subtle room sounds to washed out ambience. The reverb circuit is placed after the first operational amplifier and before the second operational amplifier.
GAIN: Adds an increasing amount of gain to the first opamp circuit. Adding gain here will add gain to the signal that is pushing the reverb. Everything from a wide open cleans to crunchy distortion can be found within the Dismal Ditch.
FLTR: A powerful EQ that removes lows as highs are added when turned clockwise from noon. When turned counter clockwise from noon lows are added as highs are removed. Noon position is a flat EQ.
VOL: Controls the overall level of the output amplifier and overall volume of the pedal.
POWER: Requires 9 Volt negative center “Boss style” power supply.
Fluorescent and UV light reactive! Also comes with a pair of 3D glasses!
